My Favorite Tool So Far

I had been trying to teach myself Spanish for a long time, and I thought I was doing ok. I could say a lot of simple sentences, and carry on a conversation, but only at an immensely slow pace. I tried a few different products, ranging from text books (borrowed from my brothers high school kids lol), to flash cards, to simple repetition drills, but it was very slow going and I didn’t really feel I was learning as much as I could be. A colleague of mine referred me to Rocket Languages Spanish, telling me that it had worked wonders for him, and that I should give it a try. I was a little dubious about the price, but when I saw that it was reduced for a short time, and they actually had a full money back guarantee, I decided that it was worth shot.

The website has a nice layout, and really made me feel comfortable about my decision. They have tons of testimonials available that really gave me the impression that they are legitimate. The features of the product included in-depth materials for all levels, from beginners to advanced speakers including, step by step instructions, over twelve and a half hours of interactive audio, 400 grammar exercise, vocabulary tools etc… They even have a special deal for online users, to join a community for support and to make the learning process even better. I proceeded to purchase the online download, mainly because I felt safe knowing that if I didn’t care for it, I could easily get my money back.

After using the product for over a month (I’m not even close to a third of the way through the material), I feel that my progress is vastly more impressive than it would be without the great tools. I have no intention to return the course, as I think that it was a very good buy. The audio was superb, it really felt like I was talking to a real person, and the grammar exercises were great. The online community was such a fantastic added bonus, it made support for the course really easy, and I felt that it makes purchasing online a much better decision.

I'm Not Getting Anywhere Here!

It’s something that people always say about learning Spanish. Its often accompanied by some rather colorful words and complicated gestures. People very often get very frustrated when trying to learn Spanish, and often give up, feeling that it is just too big of an obstacle for them to surmount. There’s no reason to down play the difficulty of learning Spanish, it is definitely very challenging, however there are many tools that can help you through these trying times. If you attempt to do this all alone, reading some book and using flash cards, you will probably have a very hard time. This may work for some, but for most people it isn’t enough. You’re left with a feeling of incompletion, and that your knowledge will always be circumstantial. You may learn how to ask the location of the bathroom, but thats it. You wont be able to carry on a conversation to the extent you would like. Thats really what the goal of learning Spanish is.

There are many tools on the market that have helped me in the past, and I think they can help you too. I will be writing some objective reviews on the different products available very soon. I hope that you will find them informative, and that they will help you out when it comes to really getting an understanding of the language.

Why Do You Want To Learn Spanish?

So let’s get started shall we? I know that you want to learn Spanish; you probably wouldn’t be here if you didn’t. What I think is important, is for you to ask yourself, “Why do I want to learn Spanish?” I know that I wanted to learn Spanish so that I would have a much stronger resume, but I know that isn’t the only reason that other people want to learn it, not by far. I was curious about this, so I did quite a bit of research, and I discovered that there are three main reasons that people do it. Reason number one by far was the same reason that I wanted to. So that people will have a much stronger resume, and will be able remain competitive.

Within 10 years, Spanish will be spoken by over 25% of the U.S as a primary language. Having the skills to interact with this huge chunk of people will be an invaluable skill. The second reason is that people want to make vacations to Spanish speaking countries more enjoyable. Let’s face it, if you go to Madrid without speaking at least some Spanish, you will be able to get by, but you will enjoy and appreciate the experience so much better if you can converse with people. You will be able to tour the sites, learn about the customs, order food and basically have a much improved time. The third reason, is because many people have always wanted to learn it, just to prove to themselves that they can. All of these are great reasons, and all of them should serve as a goal that will keep you motivated. If you ever feel discouraged, try to think about why you decided to do this, and keep in mind how much you really want to accomplish your goal.

If you are starting to really get into this pursuit, and are saying to yourself “I’m interested in learning about tools to help teach me Spanish”, then I will be doing some reviews on different products that really helped me , and will hopefully help you to get a solid grasp on speaking Spanish.
